New Found Glory to play London Forum

New Found Glory are to play the London Forum on Saturday 30th May.

Pop-punk’s reigning champs, New Found Glory, come out swinging on their hotly anticipated new album, Not Without A Fight, due March 9th on Epitaph Records.

Defending their title against any and all contenders, the platinum-selling group’s sixth studio album delivers a one-two knockout with fist-pumping hooks and catchy sing-along choruses.

Working with producer Mark Hoppus (Motion City Soundtrack, The Matches) and mixer Neil Avron (Fall Out Boy) in their corner, NFG prove that challengers don’t stand a chance.

Black Crowes date moves to Brixton Academy

Due to unprecedented interest from their British fans, the Black Crowes one off show scheduled for Sunday 17th May, has been moved to the O2 Academy Brixton.

Right from their start in 1990—with their six million-selling Shake Your Money Maker, a pivotal work that kick started an authentic style of rock and roll in America—The Black Crowes have been at odds with prevailing commercial trends. Their heady mix of '70s inflected rock, Funkadelic soul and heartfelt roots music jostled against the hair metal and high-gloss pop getting airplay at the start of that decade. While the sheer attitude and charm of "Hard To Handle," 'Jealous Again,' "Twice As Hard" and 'Remedy' managed to make big waves, the intervening years have seen the band steadily evolve an increasingly refined, singular sound that takes the best parts of hard rock, gospel, country, psychedelia and anything else it fancies into their hungry maw to create something several light years beyond the young men who recorded "She Talks To Angels."

Having been hailed by Melody Maker as 'The Most Rock and Roll Band In The World’ it is hardly surprising that their seventh studio album Warpaint released in March of last year, reached top 5 status on the US Billboard 200. Their powerful new album--the first on the band's own Silver Arrow Records, builds compellingly on the band’s trademark adventurous brew of rock, blues, country, soul and gospel, and finds the band in top fighting form.

Today, anyone checking in will find The Black Crowes more dedicated than ever to their craft which has resulted with sales of 20 million albums worldwide. They’re not only a band with something to say; they have become known as one of rock’s best live acts and have been called a 'thoroughbred American rock 'n’ freakin’ roll band.' Their panoramic live shows feature alternating set lists and signature incendiary musical explorations that are designed to take audiences on a journey. Make sure you don’t miss what is sure to be one of the highlights of 2009 Rock ’n’ Roll calendar.

Rockstar Tour Dates

The Rasmus return to UK

Multi platinum selling Finnish rock act, The Rasmus, are set to release the first single from their new album Black Roses on February 23rd.

The single 'Livin’ In A World Without You' has already been a Top 20 track in a number of worldwide territories including Switzerland, Austria, Mexico and Argentina. Black Roses is available now on CD and download.

The Rasmus formed in 1994 whilst the band members were all at school together and released a number of albums in their native country prior to international success. They gained international fame with their 2003 platinum UK album Dead Letters, accompanied with the single "In the Shadows" which reached number 1 in several countries. The Rasmus played over 300 shows in over 110 cities in support of Dead Letters and a further 250 shows in support of their next album Hide From The Sun which was released in 2005. The band are one of Finland's most successful with more than 3.5 million sold albums worldwide, eight gold awards and five platinum awards.

The 2008 album Black Roses was produced by Desmond Child who has famously worked with bands such as Bon Jovi, Kiss, Cher, Aerosmith, Kelly Clarkson and even current pop princess Katy Perry.

The Rasmus are currently on an extensive European Tour that will take in one UK show in February. They will play The Islington Academy in London on Tuesday 24th February.

Funeral For A Friend release 'Rules And Games'

Welsh rockers FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND release 'Rules And Games', the new single to be taken from their smash hit 'Memory And Humanity' album, on March 23 2009. Released on their own label, Join Us Records, it will coincide with a UK tour!

Rushing in on a wave of adrenalin and stomping rhythms. 'Rules And Games' rubber stamps Funeral For A Friend's current sense of invigoration and joyful enthusiasm. As the opening track on the recently released 'Memory And Humanity' album it convincingly sets out the quintet's stall in brash and confident form.

Currently touring the world in support of the album (the band are Stateside for six weeks, then visiting Mexico, Japan, Asia and Australia - where they tour for a week with the Soundwave Festival), they will return to the UK in March for a string of dates.

Talking about 'Rules And Games', frontman Matt Davies said, "The conservative media has made an aggressive stand point on targeting current rock acts as the reasons behind the current fears that the youths of today are becoming more involved in self harming and suicide. We all know these claims are just a way of passing the buck away from the truth. In a day and age where the idea of family seems to have been forgotten, most adults work stupid hours in an effort to keep their jobs and status and lives together but sacrifice their families in the process."

The accompanying video for the track features an intriguing story that shows five strangely familiar youngsters break into an old building only to find a decrepit, fairground fortune telling machine. (Anyone who has seen the 1988 Tom Hanks blockbuster 'Big' might recognise where the inspiration for this came from!!).

"It was an awesome experience for me, " said bassist Gav Burrough, "My first vid for FFAF. Although playing the song 30 times over was knackering stuff!"

"The video was a great, so much fun to be a part of." continued Matt. "We really wanted to make a video that showed off our sense of humor and our love for all things cinematic. It was great to see the development of the idea from script to final cut. Hopefully anyone who sees it will get a kick at the influences for the vid."

The single will be available in the following formats:
Standard CD / 7" / Download

The band will also hit the road to support the release.

Maximo Park have been locked away in Los Angeles with Nick Launay, famed for his production duties on Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Talking Heads and Yeah Yeah Yeahs, to create a record which pushes the boundaries of the Maximo Park sound, this time adding more "extreme" synthesisers and "dreamier" guitars to produce something far different from anything they've ever done before. With the finishing touches just being put on the record. The as yet untitled album is the follow up to "Our Earthly Pleasures", which rocketed to #2 in the UK album charts, with Lead single "Our Velocity" becoming a bona fide classic and top 10 smash.

Now, get ready for Maximo Park to up the ante once again.

After some rapturously received detours in the previous few years as Radio Soulwax and Nite Versions among others, the Dewaele brothers are bringing it full circle in 2009 and returning to their dancefloor smashing, genre crossing, roof raising 2ManyDJs guise, and taking their show to the road for 2 very special, late night dates this summer.
